Fishing rules:

Until further notice, fishing for zander is prohibited throughout May. Otherwise, see fishing rules in the Yellow Card Guide.

Boat fishing is allowed.

Description:

Rådasjön has a stock of zander that is occasionally reinforced by stocking. In addition, there are large pike and varied size of perch that eats both crayfish and burbot. In Rådasjön there are also plenty of roach and bream.

The pike are most active when the water is warm and at dusk and dawn. On the southern shore at Gunnebo, the water is quite deep right up to the shore. Here you can reach a depth of 10 meters where the pike can be found. The Yellow Card's record pikeperch of 9.1 kg was caught on June 30, 2005, beating the five-year-old record of 8.3 kg. The best places to catch zander are on the southern edge of the large round north of "Labbra" and along the southern shore about 200 meters from land between Stålloppet and Slottsviken, but there are many other places where zander are also caught. The regrowth of the warm water dependent zander varies and depends on how successful the spawning is and whether the fry get a good start to the summer. Pikeperch can grow rapidly once they have survived the first few years. Reed beds make shore fishing difficult in some places and access to boats therefore facilitates fishing.

In winter, when the lake freezes over, ice fishing can be varied with large perch, pike, salmon and zander. Bear in mind that the Mölndalsån river, which runs through the lake, can produce treacherous ice during mild periods in winter.

Rådasjön belongs to the Yellow Card, a fishing license that covers 60 different lakes and rivers in the Gothenburg area.

Surface area: 210 ha.
