Rocksjön and Munksjön are two centrally located lakes with good fishing opportunities. The lakes, which are among the richest in species in Jönköping County, are known for their good fishing for large pike and roach.

However, some lake fish have elevated levels of environmental pollutants and heavy metals. Therefore, children and women of childbearing age should pay close attention to

The Swedish National Food Agency's advice on fish, see www.slv.se.

Sport fishing license requirements in Rocksjön and Munksjön

Munksjön-Rocksjön is a fisheries management area under the Act (1981:533) on Fisheries Management Areas. The fishing license must always be with you when fishing and must be able to be shown in the event of a check. If fishing takes place without a fishing license, the gear can be confiscated and a police report made. The angling license is free of charge.

The area where the angling license is valid

The angling license is valid in all waters managed by Munksjöns fiskevårdsområdesförening, i.e. Munksjön, Munksjökanalen to the mouth of Lake Vättern, Tabergsån up to the earth bridge, Rocksjön and the watercourse between the lakes. Fishing is not permitted in Munksjön from the new Munksjö Bridge or from land within Munksjö AB's fenced factory area or in Rocksjön at the bathing area. These areas are shown on the fishing map.
