Fishing water
Fishing in parts of the Skärveteån and Narrveten rivers is included in the Narrveteån Fish Conservation Area (see map). Fishing in the Skärveteån is quite inaccessible on several stretches but offers even greater challenges. In the upper part of the river there is a small road on the south side that you can follow and fish from the river. Here you can try spin fishing with small spinners or angling with a float. For those who like fly fishing, there is the opportunity to release a fly into the stream in some sections. It is important to sneak along the river so as not to scare the shy trout. Trout are found in the river and the fish often stand behind rocks or in deeper holes where the river bends. The trout want shade and prefer to stand where branches hang over the river. As a precaution, you should not disturb the trout during their spawning period, which begins in September, so it is best to fish in the river earlier in the year. Trout stocks are sensitive in small rivers, it is best to fish according to the "catch and release" philosophy. On the lower stretch of the river from the bridge between Slagdala and Kråketorp you can walk along the river and fish for pike with both spinning and angling. There are also carp that you can fish for, and a fishing rod will come in handy. In Narrveten, fishing is allowed with a fishing license in the part of the lake that lies between the river's inlet and outlet (see map). Here you can fish for pike and perch with both spinning and angling, large pike are found in the lake. For perch, spinners and jigs work well.
