Sandhemssjön- about 84 ha and with about 8 km long beaches is located on the southwest side of Hökensås. It resembles the lakes of Bergslagen with barrel forested, rather steep beaches and a narrow whey belt. The water is dark and has good access to pike and perch. Fishing is best from boat but also from beach.
The lake with its surroundings is worth a visit. You can swim in a number of places and the old rough pine forest on the peculiar ridges resembles John Bauer's troll forest. Despite its availability, the beaches are almost completely free of settlement.
Signal crayfish are in the lake but these are not included in the fishing card.
